Harmonizing Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations Hybrid Course


This course will describe the state of various mammographic screening guidelines for women of average risk, review the evidence in the peer reviewed literature, propose uniform metrics for screening mammography, and identify solutions such as risk stratification tools. The course combines the Screening Mammography Debate held in Washington DC with 7 AJR articles to provide a comprehensive overview of the arguments currently being debated in screening mammography. The AJR articles part of this course are not available for credit anywhere else. In-Training Members will receive a discounted price of $225 after login  


Target Audience:
The target audience for this activity is radiologists at all training levels with an interest in current and future directions of breast cancer screening.

Goals and Objectives:
After completing the material in this article, the learner should be able to:
  1. Discuss the current standard of care for breast cancer mammography screening.
  2. Describe challenges in communicating with patients and making recommendations in breast cancer screening.
  3. Discuss the proposed uniform metrics for screening mammography, and identify solutions such as risk stratification tools.
