Background
Head and neck tumors comprise a diverse group of neoplasms with unique imaging features and molecular characteristics. Understanding the imaging findings and the relevance of molecular markers in these tumors is crucial for accurate diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.

Educational Goals / Teaching Points
Overview changes in the World Health Organization (WHO) 5th edition classification for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. Describe imaging patterns of select head and neck tumors with emphasis on radiological relevant factors in the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th edition staging system and the Neck Imaging and Reporting Data System (NI-RADS). Highlight significance of molecular markers in diagnosis and prognosis of head and neck carcinomas.

Key Anatomic/Physiologic Issues and Imaging Findings/Techniques
Key cases will be shown and discussed, such as HPV-associated sinonasal and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (SCC), SWI/SNF complex-deficient sinonasal carcinomas like the SMARCB1 deficient subtype, NUT carcinomas of the sinonasal tract, keratinizing versus nonkeratinizing SCCs, and epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma of the salivary glands. CT and MRI findings of the above cases will be provided in addition to a review of the recent pathophysiological discoveries.

Conclusion
This educational exhibit aims to provide an overview of the classification of head and neck tumors according to the recent WHO guidelines, as well as highlight key factors relevant to AJCC staging guidelines and NI-RADS.
