Background
The purpose of this education exhibit is to provide a framework for the radiologist to approach diffuse lung disease in a systematic manner based on distribution and unique features of disease. Often times diffuse lung disease can be overwhelming, and this presentation attempts to use basic descriptors, patient risk factors, and distribution of disease to help the radiologist formulate an excellent differential diagnosis.

Educational Goals / Teaching Points
The goal of this educational exhibit is to first present a brief overview of the lexicon used in CT imaging of diffuse lung disease (i.e.. nodule distribution descriptors, cyst vs cavity, etc). The next goal is to present an overall approach looking at diffuse lung disease by using patient age, patient risk factors, CT imaging findings, and most importantly disease distribution to categorize lung disease and develop a differential diagnosis. This will then be solidified in a case-based format to walk the viewer through the application of using distribution and key imaging features to generate a differential diagnosis. Each case will be accompanied by a description of the findings of the particular lung disease.

Key Anatomic/Physiologic Issues and Imaging Findings/Techniques
This presentation will focus on CT imaging of diffuse lung disease and the appropriate lexicon for describing CT findings.

Conclusion
In conclusion, this education exhibit provides a scaffolding and approach for the radiologist when presented with diffuse lung disease. An emphasis is placed on using distribution as an important way to formulate a differential diagnosis. Cases will be used to solidify the introductory material and provide practice for the viewer.
